Cockroach Control in Bromsgrove, Redditch and South Birmingham

Pest Control ServiceCockroch Control

DR.KILL specialise in cockroach removal and undertake cockroach treatments for commercial and domestic clients. Our fully trained and accredited pest control operatives supply an cockroach control and cockroach extermination service in the areas of Bromsgrove, Redditch and South Birmingham, with a guarantee of NO KILL NO BILL.

Cockroaches are fast-breeding and can survive in the most adverse conditions. Usually thought to be a sign of poor hygiene and unsanitary conditions, cockroaches, like many other pests, are attracted to places that are clean. In the UK, we have two main cockroach species to control - the German cockroach and the Oriental cockroach.

Both species of cockroach can carry disease organisms, so treatment of an infestation should be carried out as soon as possible. DR.KILL can provide professional treatment for cockroaches, starting with a survey of the premises, identifying the species and offering the appropriate options for extermintaion.

Cockroach Identification

  • The adult German cockroach is a light yellowy/brown and is 10 to 15mm long, with two distinguishable dark stripes on its thorax. Young German cockroaches look quite dark, almost to the point of appearing black.
  • The Oriental cockroach is shiny black, brown or mahogany and measures around 20 to 24mm long. Adult males have wings, covering about 3/4 of their abdominal area.
  • Cockroach infestations produce a lingering and unpleasant 'musty' odour.
  • If water is available cockroaches will produce droppings which appear as brown smudges. With no water, they will lay hard brown/black pellets approx. 2mm long.

Cockroach Habitat & Breeding

  • Primarily nocturnal, cockroahes are found in heated buildings, dustbin areas, waste areas, cellars, boiler houses, lift shafts, etc.Cockroach colonies are often established in drains or services, but sometimes in cladding and dead spaces inside processing equipment.
  • The cockroach life cycle is egg - nymph - adult.
  • The German cockroach egg case (ootheca) contains on average 30-40 eggs, taking 2-4 weeks to hatch. The Oriental cockroach produces on average 16 eggs and females will have around 5 egg cases.
  • German cockroach nymphs have 5-7 moults. Oriental cockroach nymphs have 7-10 moults.
